Targets
Shooting Types
- Sighters – 2 slow and unscored shots to show where you hit
- Single Snap – 1 quick shot then target disappears/turn sideways
- Double Snap – 2 quick shots then target disappears/turn sideways
- Triple Snap – 3 quick shots then target disappears/turn sideways
- Alternating Snap – Mix of snaps, can be 1, 2 or 3 shots
- Rapid – 40 to 60 sec to shoot 8 or 10 shots at a target.
- Deliberate – Multiple rounds over long period (60 sec+)
- Application / App’n– Individually scored shots, usually on 4 ft target
Application Shooting
- Shoot once.
- Target goes down.
- Target back up.
- Coloured sign show hit area.
- Sign goes to corner. (Picture shows corner meanings)
- Shoot again, repeat.
Sign Colours
RED sign = 2, 3 or 4.
WHITE sign = 5 or V.
V is centre, it is highest score.
Usual Instructions & Translations
- “Shooters on the mound, this is a ? round (rapid/single tap/double tap/etc.) practice. Load ? rounds.”
Prepare ? rounds. Aim gun when the target shows. (Don’t shoot. Keep bolt back.)
- “Watch and shoot!” (1st one)
- “Watch and shoot!” (2nd one)
Final warning. Shoot when targets show.
STOP SHOOTING when “Cease fire!” is yelled or whistle is blown (Usually when there is safety issues).
